THE FIRST EDITION OF ROUTE 66 RAISES $325 000 TO PREVENT SUBSTANCE ABUSE AMONG TEENAGERS

MONTRÉAL, JUNE 12th 2019 – The very first edition of Route 66 of the Fondation Jean Lapointe surpassed all exceptations with a total of $325 000 that were raised to help prevent teenagers from the risks of alcohol, cannabis and other drugs consumption.

The Fondation Jean Lapointe in collaboration with Groupe Sélection and ICAR Mirabel presented an unforgettable day under the theme of the mystic Road 66. Big thrills, exotic cars, professional drivers and lots of fun awaited the guests.

Mr. Réal Bouclin, President of Groupe Sélection was named honorary president of the event. The Fondation Jean Lapointe wants to thank him for his great generosity and his precious commitment towards prevention of substance abuse among teenagers.

The day brilliantly hosted by Alexandre Laganiere was also marked by the victory of Annie Papageorgiou, Executive Director of the Fondation Jean Lapointe, at the final of the drag race where the 16 fastest drivers of the day fought for a place on the podium. Mr. Mathieu Champagne from Deloitte finished in second place while Mr. François Proulx from Technofeu inc. completed the podium in third place.

Thank you to our guest professional drivers Kevin Lacroix and Alex Tagliani whom provided our guests with moments they won’t forget in their racing cars.

A special thank you to our special guests Étienne Boulay and Jean-Simon Bourgie who gave touching testimonies during the evening.
