MONTREAL, MAY 13, 2019 – The 7th edition of La Grande Soirée organised by Fondation Jean Lapointe ended remarkably with a total of $250,000 that were raised to help prevent more high school teenagers from the risks of alcohol, cannabis and other drugs consumption. It’s with a great pride that Honorary President, Mr. Claude Lachance, presented a renewed formula of the event, a dinner cocktail where a hundred of guests attended The Windsor Ballrooms of Montreal to contribute to the cause.

The Fondation Jean Lapointe wants to thank Mr. Lachance, president of GCA Immobilier, for the success of this 7th edition and for his great generosity and unfading engagement towards prevention of substance addiction among teenagers. As Honorary President for a fourth year in a row, he was able to bring together women and men from the business community and thereby sensitize them to the importance of supporting the Fondation’s prevention actions in high schools across the province.

We would also like to point out the presence of two teenagers who have attended our workshops Émilie Claire Le Ménédeu and Alfred Poirier, as well as the presence of the young professional Jean Simon Bourgie, who offered heartfelt testimonies to La Grande Soirée’s guests. A young foursome of musicians from Joseph François Perrault High School composed of Sidney Lavoie, Amélie Tjia, Flavie Brousseau-La Rosa and Édouard Paquette also offered an inspiring musical performance during the evening.

We also want to mention the participation of Annie Papageorgiou, general director of the Fondation Jean Lapointe, who brilliantly animated the auction, for the great pleasure of the guests.

The event was also marked by the presence of Mr. Jean Lapointe at the evening accompanied by his wife and his daughter Anne Elizabeth Lapointe, general director of the Maison Jean Lapointe.

An event of this magnitude would be impossible without the support of our devoted partners GCA Immobilier, Constructions Vachon et Fils, Altek Windows and Doors, Canidé, Creativ Nation, the Lab Comptoir à Cocktail and Discount. A HUGE THANK YOU to our 11 volunteers who attended and greatly contributed to the success of this event.

Finally, a special thank you to all the guests and attendees who contributed to this achievement. Thanks to you, Fondation Jean Lapointe will be able to meet more then 80,000 teenagers by the end of the school year with our prevention workshops.

See you in May 2020 for the 8th edition of La Grande Soirée!
