Your Impact

In Quebec, we estimate that about 4% of individuals suffer from an addiction.

Each one of these people affects the daily lives of 6 to 10 people.

Therefore, that’s 1 Quebecer in 3 that is touched, directly or indirectly, by addictions.

For over 40 years, the Fondation and Maison Jean Lapointe have worked to combat addictions, by supporting research and deploying awareness campaigns, by offering prevention workshops, but also by putting forward reputable treatment programs related to dependency to alcohol, other substances, gambling and hyper-connectivity.

Youth Prevention Initiatives

Prevention works! For 20 years, Maison Jean Lapointe has been a pioneer in the prevention of addictions through secondary schools. These educational workshops and reinforcement techniques supply accessible and captivating content in order to inform students about the risks of consumption of alcohol and other substances, as well as hyper-connectivity; all of this in an open environment that encourages exchange. Since 2004, there have been over 1.2 million young people that have attended workshops across Quebec.

Maison Jean Lapointe, leader in addiction treatment

Forty years ago, our commitment to offering short-term stays for those suffering from addictions was the starting point for an institution that is deeply rooted in Quebec society. Today, Maison Jean Lapointe has a team of approximately thirty addiction workers and offers recovery programs with proven results.

Excellence at the heart of our actions

Through the years, Maison Jean Lapointe has taken its place as a leading actor in the realm of supporting people confronted with addictions. For almost twenty years, our prevention and treatment teams have constantly stayed abreast of advances in research and current practices in Canada and the U.S. This allows us to guarantee support services that are of the highest quality, to those individuals and families that require them.

Supporting the development of the addiction counselling profession

With annual scholarships to Masters’ students at the University of Sherbrooke, the Fondation allows professionals to develop new addiction intervention practices and methods through their own research work.
